Artful Life's Valerie Martinez is a Co-Coordinator, along with Shelle Sanchez (Founder) and Julia Mandeville (Escuela del Sol/Harwood Art Center), of Women and Creativity Month. 

 

From 2005-2017, Women & Creativity presented an annual, month-long series that celebrated women’s creativity across the disciplines--including curated collaborations and dozens of exhibitions, events, workshops, performances, pop-up dinners, salons and more.

After 12 years, in 2018, Women and Creativity shifted to coordinating the annual "Shine" awards, honoring women who are making remarkable contributions to art and community art initiatives in Albuquerque.

Women & Creativity is sponsored by Artful Life, Edible Magazine (Santa Fe/ Albuquerque /Taos) and the Harwood Art Center.

 

Partners include dozens of individuals and organizations hosting, sponsoring and featuring exhibitions, performances, workshops and other presentations in New Mexico throughout Women’s History Month.
