The second annual National Latinx Writers Gathering will take place October 14-17, 2021 and is open to all writers who identify as Latinx. As a result of COVID-19, all events are virtual.
Artful Life is happy to co-coordinate this event in collaboration with the National Hispanic Cultural Center, the Latinx Writers Caucus, and Letras Latinas at Notre Dame.
The first year (2020) of this unprecedented national convening of Latinx writers emphasized community-building, connection, and experiential collaboration--determined by a national survey of writers who expressed what they wanted from a first-ever gathering of this kind.
In the same vein, the 2021 NLWG will consist of four days of exciting, experiential workshops and sessions designed to uplift, support, and advocate for U.S. Latinx writers working in all genres.
See the schedule, and register for the NLWG here.
Planning Committee Members: Valerie Martínez, Francisco Aragon, Ahimsa Timoteo Bodhrán, Miranda Colon, Tammy Gomez, Tanesia Hale-Jones, Sutherland Jaramillo, Christy Leos, Rubén Quesada, Sara Rivera and Monica Sanchez.
We are grateful to the following organizations and individuals who made the first convening possible: National Hispanic Cultural Center (History and Literary Arts Program), Letras Latinas, Latinx Writers Caucus, City of Albuquerque, Artful Life, the Albuquerque Poet Laureate Program, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
